On 19 February, the Society hosted a movie night to screen the Аcademy Аward nominated Russian language film, Leviathan (Левиафан). Directed by Andrei Zvyagintsev, the film follows the struggle of one man and his family fighting a corrupt small town mayor from taking his land and home.
During the Fall 2014 semester, the Society had the pleasure of screening the documentary, “КРОВЬ” (Blood), along with hosting its director Alina Rudnitskaya. The film documents a small band of nurses who travel to isolated towns in Russia as part of a government funded program for collecting blood.
During the Fall 2010 semester, the Society hosted filmmaker Vitaly Manskiy to screen his documentary, “Virginity” (Девственность). The Russian language film follows three young women who have sworn to remain virgins until a substantial reward is presented.
